Here at ATE, we completely understand how buying the right replacement axle for your towed equipment or trailer can be daunting. That's why we're giving you all the information you need in one place about the different types of axles.
Firstly, here is the form we will need you to fill out for us to help you
find the right replacement axle, if you’re not sure what exactly you’re looking
for. Just download it, fill it out and send
it to sales@ate-uk.com – let us do the rest.
Most axles are made to order, so if you’re unsure – we’re always here to
help.
Rubber Suspension Axles:
Available in braked and unbraked versions from 500-3000kg, Rubber
Suspension Axles are considered the most reliable and up-to-date form of
suspension. With a full-width beam, they
add rigidity to the chassis – all with the performance of individual
suspension. They’re constructed using
strands of rubber in a length of box, with the suspension arm pressed
in-between. The drop arm rotates when
weight is applied, which gives you your suspension. It’s helpful to use the form above to provide
us with the correct measurements for your replacement axle.
Solid Beam Axles:
These are not as common anymore, but they can still be used alongside
Leaf Springs. They’re made up of a solid
bar with stubs on the ends; these allow brakes to be fitted. You can purchase either braked or unbraked
Solid Beam Axles, with a range of stud patterns for different wheels. Weight capacities range from 500kg to 3000kg.
