A hi-vis green PVC coated breakaway cable. A PVC coating gives added protection and enhances its durability.
All braked trailers or caravans should have a breakaway cable fitted to assist with applying the brakes in the unlikely event of the trailer coming unhitched.
The idea of a breakaway cable is that if the trailer came detached from the vehicle, the breakaway cable would pull on the handbrake lever activating the brakes. Once it has pulled on the brakes the breakaway cable will separate allowing the trailer to come to a stop away from from the towing vehicle.
