A Dixon Bate universal coupling with a weight capacity of 5000kg (or 5 tons) for use with a hardened 25mm diameter pin. It is important to note that the weight capacity stated on a 5 ton universal coupling refers to the pin only - the towball is still rated at 3.5 ton. Universal couplings are mostly used commercially where the application requires the ability to tow using a 50mm ball or an eye (also known as a ring).
